Profile:

Tamsin qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 whilst working in Gloucestershire. Tamsin spent a number of years working in Monmouthshire and Cardiff before returning home to Cornwall in 2010 to work for Stephens Scown LLP prior to joining Paddle & Cocks.


Tamsin has specialised in all areas of Private Client work since qualifying. Tamsin enjoys building a good relationship with her clients which enables her to understand their needs and how best she can assist them

Tamsin has vast experience in advising on pre-death and post death areas of Private Client work including the following:


  • Advising on and the drafting of client’s Wills, including complex Wills involving Trusts
  • Advising on and the drafting of Lasting Powers of Attorney for both financial and health including registering the documents with the Office of the Public Guardian
  • Registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney
  • Advising clients on the potential Inheritance Tax implications of lifetime gifting
  • Advising clients on Inheritance Tax issues, including advising on the changes in the laws surrounding Inheritance Tax. This includes advice on transferring the Nil Rate Band and the Residence Nil Rate Band, Discretionary Trusts and Interest in Possession Trusts.
  • Advising clients on intestate estates and the tracing of missing beneficiaries.
  • Advising clients on administering estates and reporting to HMRC on Inheritance Tax.
  • Advising clients on Inheritance Tax reliefs, in particular Business Property Relief and Agricultural Property Relief.
  • Advising beneficiaries and drafting Deeds of Variation to vary their inheritance.
  • Advising Trustees after the death of a Trustee and when new Trustees are being appointed drafting the Trust documents required .
  • Advising clients on dissolving Discretionary Trusts and appointing out the assets to the beneficiaries.
  • Advising families on potential mental capacity issues and the process of applying to the Court of Protection to become a person’s Deputy.
