Profile:

After completing a master's degree in European Law in Prague, Hannah qualified as an employment solicitor in 2006 and therefore has some 15 years' experience. She then began her career at Weightmans LLP in Birmingham where she worked in-house at a FTSE 100 Company, supporting the senior HR team. After having moved to Manchester, she spent 10 years working in-house for a large global organisation, Northgate, where she defended tribunal claims on behalf of organisations and conducted her own advocacy. One of Hannah’s career highlights included successfully defending a higher education institution in respect of multiple claims for race and sex discrimination, unfair dismissal and breach of contract during a 17-day hearing. Hannah not only fully prepared the case but also conducted the advocacy.

Whilst raising two small boys, Hannah moved in-house to Anchor Trust, the UK’s largest care home provider. There she worked closely with the Board advising on HR and employment law and policy, which impacted the business strategy. She undertook large-scale project work, training and was instrumental in implementing significant changes.

Hannah was later headhunted for the role of Senior Associate at DWF in Manchester, where she led the insured employment team, and then when she moved to Yorkshire she became Head of Employment for Eaton Smith Solicitors in Huddersfield.

Hannah advises both organisations of all sizes and industries as well as individuals and she has particular expertise in representing clients at Employment Tribunal, as well as conducting the advocacy in such matters.

Hannah acts for clients in the city and nationally covering a range of matters including:

  • Employment Tribunal litigation;
  • Discrimination claims;
  • Whistle blowing;
  • Wrongful and unfair dismissal;
  • TUPE/large scale transformation projects;
  • Senior exit negotiations;
  • Compromise agreements;
  • Redundancy
